In Class: Freewrite
My favorite part about "Home Girl" was how real she was at home. Like when Hall describes her running conditioner through her daughter's hair and then describes that part of the home. It just made her seem very "normal" instead of a famous singer. I also liked that she would not make a comment about the comparison Hall makes between Badu and Beyonce. To me that showed what a good person she is to have the class to not ruin someone else's parade (so to say). When they talk about how Badu is trying to revamp her area of town, it is exactly like what's going on around my hometown.. only it's not because my town has become like New Orleans - it was just starting to get run down.
